Dear pull up nappy manufacturers

Just write Front on the front side and Back on the backside. Don't give me some sort of faded cartoon characters that I'm meant to decipher that indicate which way the nappy goes. My son doesn't give a fig what's printed on the nappy. Just make it easier for the parent.

Rant over

So, just checked my pull ups and they don’t say “back” on them.
But my son came home from nursery with a pull up on with “back” written on the back today!
It made me look twice as I’d not seen it on there before!
He must have come home in someone else’s 🤷‍♀️

Lidl also has the tab on the back and they are the best in my opinion.

Gilbert-I always pack traditional nappies for days out so I don't have to completely undress them in a tiny cubicle, but they are a godsend when they are kicking furiously and undoing the tabs faster than you can get their trousers back on. I always pack both types in my toddlers nursery bag so they can choose whichever is easier at the time.

I put them on my ds from when he was around 12 months because he went through a phase of not lying still to get a nappy on and they were easier.

Another one here who uses pull ups on my teeny one year old. She’s a mini Houdini and enjoys nothing more than twisting herself into ridiculous positions to stop you doing a tabbed nappy up, so pull ups it is!

CarrieBlu · 03/07/2019 21:07

Although when I used to work in a nursery I hated it when parents used them, seemed to make the nappy run take 10x longer! Similarly parents who dress their kids in dungarees without poppers - if you want your DC nursery staff to like you, stay away from the dungarees!

Littlebelina · 03/07/2019 21:14

Dear pampers can you take the yellow bits out of the pattern on nappies, especially near the seams..the amount of times I have checked the edges of the nappies and thought it was pooh leakage only to realise it is the pattern on closer inspection .

Agree!

TheWeatherGirl1 · 03/07/2019 21:15

I've nodded my way through this entire thread, especially regarding the yellow bits.

Sadly, I have to use pull ups and not nappies as getting my child to lay down for a nappy change is about as simple as taking a lion to Asda to do some shopping for it's tea.
I have to chase him around the coffee table waving the pants while bodily fluids (his and mine ) fly everywhere.

I'v just realised I subconsciously passive aggressively dress eldest DD who is potty trained but sometimes still needs the toilet NOW in dungarees and jumpsuits when grandma is looking after her.

Perhaps explains why she doesn't seem to like me much Shock Grin

Dear Universe,

Thank you I can be very smug and say I am over the nappy/pull ups stage. Thank you that it is my turn to make other mums and dads who are still using nappies jealous of me rather than me being jealous of everyone else when I always thought they were doing better than me at parenting (but they weren't really.)

Thank you I am finally past the stage of putting nappies on back to front, forgetting to fill the changing bag up on a day I need 5 pull ups in an hour and miss diagnosing the yellow stretchy bit around the top of the legs as poo.

Oh gosh, I am a smug git and deserve the universe to give a later in life surprise baby just so I have to do nappies again. (Would be welcome, but not planning a number 5.)

DappledThings · 03/07/2019 23:17

Tesco ones say Back on them.

Only started using them once we were potty training and DS can put it on himself as part of getting ready for bed.

Hated them before that, they don't fold up anywhere as neatly as normal ones and I'm with Gilbert on the annoyance of needing to fully strip to change.

HappyLoneParentDay · 03/07/2019 23:24

@Gilbert1A I disagree. My daughter was a nightmare at crawling stage! She wanted to be off and would NOT stay still and even less likely to for nappy changes!!! Never in a million years. These pants were a god send
