How do you clean greasy kitchen cupboard doors?

I've tried hot water and washing up liquid and spray on kitchen cleaner. Neither work that well and now I've got a build up of crud on my badly desgned kitchen cupboard doors.

Any magical solutions to easily lift the grease?

Deepio is your friend. It comes in a blue bottle, most supermarkets sell it and it's magic stuff. I use it on end of tenancy cleans and particularly dirty jobs (I'm a cleaner by trade). If you can't get that then good old sugar soap)

Fairy power spray

Freudianslip1 · 01/07/2019 10:32

I have an ancient kitchen with wooden architrave and a broken extractor fan so there is a daily film of grease, especially if I fry something. I put white vinegar in a spray bottle, spray liberally and leave for an hour. Then neat Fairy on a scouring sponge and spread it around and leave for a while. A good scrub again and a rinse, use a toothbrush for hard to reach bits.

Windolene

Is it a bit sad to get excited about buying Deepio, sugar soap and elbow grease and spending my evening cleaning my kitchen?

Cleaner here...
Cif and the scourer side of a sponge.
Rinse off.

Fibbke · 01/07/2019 10:34

I've tried fairy power and it's no better than normal fairy liquid.

Elbow grease spray. It is amazing!

4under4our · 01/07/2019 10:40

Another vote for elbow grease!

GloGirl · 01/07/2019 10:42

Sugar soap is the professional and my default if I was going to clean them all as a project!

I really love Ecozone decreasing kitchen spray. Elbow grease is great too.

KitKatCHA · 01/07/2019 11:02

You can get vim in home bargains Wink

LoafofSellotape · 01/07/2019 11:05

Agree with PP, CIF.

BarbaraofSevillle · 01/07/2019 11:05

Elbow grease sounds like something you would send a trainee out to buy as an initiation joke.

Fibbke · 01/07/2019 11:07

Ha ha i admit i googled it before i replied and it does exist

Another vote for sugar soap. I tend to do a fairly regular wipe with surface spray and a cloth... but we needed our cupboards really grease free before we painted them, and I was amazed (and horrified!) by how much ‘extra’ grease the sugar soap got off!

Fibbke · 01/07/2019 11:21

Can i get sugar soap at b and q? Keen to get cracking!

OhTheRoses · 01/07/2019 11:23

Wipe them down once a week and there won't be a problem.

Her0utdoors · 01/07/2019 11:30

Cif. Smear it on and give it a moment to work then clean off with the scrubby side of a washing up spounge. I bought one house that had a kitchen so caked in grease I could scrape it off, utterly minging, the door frames and light switches too. Windowlene sprey is also good fot lighter greaseiness.
