What's your favourite thing about your child?

Does anybody fancy a nice cheerful thread for a Monday morning. I know kids can be hard work and drive us loopy but what is it about your child that gives you a little surge of love every time?

For me, my ds is 7 and he loves the smaller children and babies. He's so caring. My inspiration for the thread was watching him on the playground yesterday. He stopped playing to carefully help a toddler get on the seesaw, got her settled and asked another child to go on the other side with her. He will also spend hours entertaining his baby cousin and bringing her toys that he knows are safe.

DS(13) is very laid back, loving with a wonderful sense of humour.

@EnthusiasmIsDisturbed bless him, he sounds lovely.

I hope all these children (especially boys) who are kind, caring and thoughtful don't get that knocked out of them by a world that thinks they should toughen up.

Aww thank you timeandtimeagain42

He is 😁

I agree but I do think boys are encouraged far more to be empathetic than when I was growing up

And as thoughtful as he is he is still going through those awful pre teen moods 😭

Ds aged 5 - adores his younger sisters and always has done. So smiley and friendly to everyone.
Dd aged 3 - sense of fun. She's so shy with people she doesn't know but actually quietly confident and good at lots of things. When she's comfortable she is very daring and a laugh a minute!
Dd aged 1 - so affectionate. I get kissed and cuddled hundreds of times a day. I feel so loved by her!

That my DDs both still want a cuddle on the sofa both have left school.

DS1 has always been a ‘spirited’ child, but I really admire his strong-willed but sensitive nature. He is also turning out to be very caring and compassionate, which is something we have only recently witness emerging as such a strong trait within him.

DS2 very much matches to the beat of his own drum, and I really admire that. He is also a quiet little soul and very independent.

There are lots of things that are amazing about my children. They bless me every day.
The best thing?
Snuggling up with them and sniffing their hair.
Ds1 smells like a box of quality street. Seriously. There's a sweet chocolatey smell to his hair and it's very comforting. He's 8.
Ds2 has a sharper smell but I still love it. He's 5 and he lets me nuzzle his scalp with my nose.
As I said, they have so many wonderful things about them, but I'm a sucker for a cuddle.

DD(5) has an "old head". She's been grown up and sensible way beyond her years since she was tiny, and she says the funniest things because of it. And because of that it's even lovelier to see her running about and acting like a crazy 5 year old, like she should.

DS(1) is extremely challenging and clingy at the moment, but when he's happy he bounces up and down, scrunches up his nose, and tips his head right back with glee. It's so sweet.

But my favourite thing is how much they love each other. DD is so caring and like a little Mum to DS, always bringing him toys and showing him things. And his face just lights up when he sees her, nobody makes him laugh more. It makes the hard stuff so very worth it... I know it might not last forever so I'm enjoying it while I can!
