Part time/casual work from home jobs?

I am looking to start a business but to start with may need another job to prop up our income.
I don't think my work will let me go part time so am looking for something I could do to generate some money.
NOT matched betting.
Any ideas much appreciated!

Taking in ironing.

What are your skills? Childminding before and after school and in the holidays? That leaves you school hours for startup.

Tutoring? Do you have a degree in a subject taught to GCSE level?

Do you like animals? Cat sitting or dog walking?

Can you make stuff to sell, or do you have an eye for value and could buy from second hand shops to sell on eBay? Or eBay for people - lots of us would love to eBay stuff but haven’t a clue or the time. Then take an agreed cut.

As someone suggested, ironing.

I'm currently a teacher but I hate it and my subject wouldn't work with private tutoring.
I never even Iron our own clothes but I suppose it is option that is pretty flexible and I live on a huge estate (800 houses) so there are bound to be some people here that need the service.

Is there much demand for supply in your area? At least then you can pick the hours you want. It would earn you a lot more per hour than ironing. Otherwise, childcare? - you have an advantage of being able to offer homework support etc.

I can't offer childcare. I am qualified to teach ages 14+ so would need another qualification to offer childcare.
I have looked into marking papers but they aren't looking for anyone right now. Invigilators seems too seasonal.

teaching english to Chinese students? I'm looking into that, am doing a TEFL.

~I'd consider it but really would rather not be doing teaching at all.
