Is 22 hot enough for an outside pool?

I'm wanting to do something nice with young DS today and thought the local(ish) outside pool with sun loungers might be nice!

Have I missed my chance now though?

Didn't want to go yesterday as I finished work too late in the day. I thought we could do it today but now I'm thinking 22 would be too chilly for that type of thing?

Am I right or wrong? Thank you Grin

I’d find 22 chilly. How hardy are you?!

pizzaorpine · 30/06/2019 06:47

Canulation I don't know! I'd say not very much so, I love the sun Grin

I’d say 22 was positively balmy. Plenty warm enough for swimming outside.

SnuggyBuggy · 30/06/2019 06:52

It's fine for me but I'm built like a little polar bear and I'd probably be swimming lengths for exercise. My more lizard like DH would be freezing.

Just a case of knowing which one of these two myself and DS are more like them Grin

It depends on how much sun there is. At the moment if the sun stays out it will feel warm being in it.

REllenR · 30/06/2019 07:19

I thought you meant the pool temp and would definitely find that cold! With the air temp at 22 I'd definitely find that warm enough!

Millie2013 · 30/06/2019 07:37

I’d go (early because our local lido gets very busy once the temp goes over 20)

Luzina · 30/06/2019 07:38

Air temp 22 - DEFINITELY warm enough especially if it's sunny

MuffinMachine · 30/06/2019 08:04

Jesus, 22 is tropical, it's paddling pool weather at 18 here!

SquirmOfEels · 30/06/2019 08:09

Have you missed your chance?

No, not if you go now. But if anything like the lidos in South London, you will have done if you leave it until 11ish, by which time the queues to get in at all will be hefty, and the place will be utterly rammed filled to capacity and there will be very little space to stretch out and relax.

Does your local have timed wristbands on busy days? Might be better to swim at the lido and then laze around in a park

HellYeah90s · 30/06/2019 08:10

22 is a good temperature, go and enjoy OP!

But this is coming from the girl who growing up went swimming in lakes in the middle of winter...

ATrampsVest · 30/06/2019 08:11

I'm in Cumbria. My kids were in the paddling pool when it hit 16!

KindergartenKop · 30/06/2019 10:28

Remember the pool will have warmed up considerably yesterday. Go!

LimitIsUp · 30/06/2019 16:18

I would go at 22 degrees. Currently sat in the garden and it's lovely and warm (rather than unbearably hot like yesterday)

SquirmOfEels · 30/06/2019 20:28

Did you go? And how was it?

NotYourHolidayDick · 30/06/2019 20:32

I'd have frozen my tits off at 22! That's not even warm enough to sit out. Wtf are you lot made of?! Butter?!

pizzaorpine · 30/06/2019 20:33

Squirm I bloody didn't! I'm a fool. It was absolutely lovely today, it felt like being abroad but not unbearably hot. It was perfect.

I only know how the weather was in full because of a trip to Asda that didn't have most of what I wanted in stock.

I'll certainly be going next Sunday if it stays at the predicted 23....

Anything into double figures here and the battle cry is "taps aff" or in English tops off
