Alarm clock going off next door!!

opalescent · 29/06/2019 21:11

Our walls are paper thin- next door seem to have an alarm clock that is sounding every 90 seconds or so, and has been doing so since yesterday 😡. It's adjacent to our bedroom 😡😡

They are away evidently.

Hopefully not for a week!!! We don't have any contact numbers for them.

Is there anything I can do? (Short of phoning 101, which I have no intention of doing!)

So cross!!

Batteries gone in a smoke detector sounds motel likely. Does anyone have a spare key, can you contact them?

opalescent · 29/06/2019 21:15

No. Nothing at all- we don't really know them, and it's not the kind of street where people share contact details- I will be after this though!

I guess I'll have to ride it out tonight and get some ear plugs if they're not back tomorrow 🤯

Can you report a 'gas leak' and have someone smash their door in like in that episode of Friends? Grin

Soola · 29/06/2019 21:41

Put a note through the door in case someone is checking in on the house whilst they’re away

opalescent · 29/06/2019 21:57

Ooh that's a good idea - the note, not the door smashing!

Poor you! That would drive me mad and ruin my sleep!
The note is a good idea. Really hope it stops soon for you.

nicecuppaforme · 29/06/2019 22:16

Is it rented?

Guest8989 · 29/06/2019 22:34

Defo a detector of some sort - happened to us for a few days. I was going nuts.

opalescent · 29/06/2019 22:42

No it's not rented, so no agents to go through or anything 😩 I'm going to try and rustle up some temporary ear plugs with cotton wool- and pray that they come back tomorrow!

In the meantime stick on some fans or something to try and block it out.

opalescent · 29/06/2019 22:43

Yes I do think some white noise would help- thank you 😊
