Shampoo ideas

I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas or suggestions... My 10yr dd has beautiful long hair but unfortunately it's also very greasy. I know she's at the age where her body is changing but it's been like this for a long time, she'll wash it tonight and by tomorrow night it looks like it hasn't been washed for days. I've tried all sorts, tea tree shampoo, ones for greasy hair, anti dandruff (she also has a touch of this) normal hair shampoo, and conditioner only ever goes on the ends, never near the roots. It's starting to get her down as it never looks shiny any more, anyone know what I could try?!?!

I suffered a little from greasy hair and found Herbal Essences to be the best for me as seems to be fairly light weight.
Otherwise it might just be hormonal.. could she add a touch of dry shampoo? (Batiste is the only really good one!!

Brushing with a bristle brush such as a Mason Pearson brush will remove flakes from scalp and distribute the oil through her hair and make it sleek.

By brushing I mean proper brushing. Not just a quick run through. Like what the Victorian’s used to do because they didn’t wash their hair regularly.

I have hair very like your daughters. I get on well with herbal essences (I like the 0% parabens coconut one). Conditioner only on the very ends, no higher up than the nape of the neck, it weighs it down at the top far too much, and my hair is virgin at the top so very shiny and soft on its own. Conditioner on the ends just sort of balances everything out. It needs rinsing out really well too and occasionally skipping entirely.

Vosene is good for dandruff too, better than head and shoulders I find but doesn't smell quite as nice.

I also do need to wash it every day. No amount of training it to be less greasy by not washing it as often works. It just ends up especially greasy and gross.

Also needs to be tied back especially at night otherwise it looks like it's been dipped in a chip pan, and I gave up on fringes years ago, had to wash it twice a day in summer when I had one!

I have similar hair, always have had. A hairdresser told me, when I was a teenager, never to use a brush, but always a chunky wide toothed comb. I've always done this, and my hair is in pretty good condition.

I also use Alberto Balsam Tea Tree Tingle shampoo, and Alberto Balsam Coconut conditioner; if I give any other products a try, I always come back to these two.

Saying that, I do wash it every morning because, like your daughter, it looks very greasy the next day if I don't, no matter what I use.

I second Alberto balsam it's cheap too. Is she using enough? My dd used to miss bits. Daily washing is the answer which not all youngsters are keen on (personal experience)

Thank you all very much, I've mentioned a few times that she might have to do it everyday (I do too as my hair is very similar but not quite as bad) that didn't go down wellGrin but I will look into some of those shampoos and brushes!!
