www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/wife-58-arrested-after-telling-17263541

Bloke made redundant & becomes obsessed with bodybuilding, steroids & viagra. Job centre staff noticed a change in his mood & the police were sent to his home! Wife ends up being arrested but apparently all she was guilty of was asking him to clean the house more!
So now if your partner gets fed up of your nagging be careful or you could end up in court. Ridiculous.

So Yabbers that's what you take away from this incident, men not being able to report abuse. Not the fact that a woman was wrongly arrested for a nonsense 'crime', and police resources where wasted in the process. Wow.

There are so few details in the report, I wouldn’t jump to the conclusion that her version of events is correct. CPS aren’t going to waste valuable resources on such a frivolous charge. This wasn’t false arrest, let go with an oh sorry a few days later, this went far through the system. Add to that it’s only carried by the cheap tabloids who are all reporting in the same manner and yes, my takeaway is the deeply flawed reporting does nobody any favours. They get to poke fun at the nagging wife with a good amount of incredulity that a woman can abuse a man.

But, if you want to believe everything you read in the tabloids, you go ahead.

Based on the report/article I have no idea how someone came to the conclusion that this woman had committed an offence.

There is nothing in that article. It is all fluff. The only piece to note is the CPS comment which heavily hints there was more to it.

The fact that CPS actually made the decision to charge and took it to court would say to me that there was a lot more too it than the odd note asking him to hoover.

If the police arrested her, rather than just invite her in for interview, that would also indicate to me she wasn't as innocent as she's making out. She would have had to have been kicking off at the time.

This article is all her side of the story and she's hardly going to say she's been in the wrong now is she?!

Deadringer · 27/06/2019 19:54

It isn't all from her point of view, the first article at least has a statement from the husband saying she was always 'on at him' and controlling, leaving the hoover out for him etc. If there was more to it it's odd that he didn't mention it when asked.
