Any GPs about to decipher some blood tests?

NC for this. Some of my blood results have come back and I'm concerned. If someone could decipher them I'd be very grateful.

I've had severe bone/joint pain recently - GP has put me on morphine and codeine to try and alleviate some of the sleepless nights/tears and enable me to look after DD properly.
I've been feeling crap. Tired all the time, in loads of pain, my hip 'knocks' out of the joint and I have to 'reset it', my back clicks and clunks all day long, I'm struggling to open locked doors, jars and bottles because my hands feel so weak, numbness/tingling in arms and legs, shooting pains in arms and legs, back is absolute agony (feels like something has 'gone'.)

My blood test results were available online and I was told to book an appointment within 2 weeks, nothing to worry about I thought. Done some googling and have frightened myself to no end - awaiting more results too.
My appointment isn't till Tuesday so I'm hoping and begging for someone to decipher the science.
Thank you.

The summary of those blood tests is that you are anaemic because you are low in iron.

The main cause in a menstruation-age female is usually menstruation.

Occasionally (older people, males, other risk factors) it merits some more investigation to find out where the iron loss is coming from.

The rest of the results are not worrying... vitamin D sort out with supplementation.

Other blood tests so borderline as to merit a repeat test in a few weeks but not much else unless trending toward more out of range.

Thank you, KeepItDown.

From a layman's point of view those blood results were utterly terrifying and Google just kept leading me to Leukemia. I felt ill!

I agree....low iron which needs treating but a repeat count should be done

10marlboroughlites thank you. I'm so relieved!

Would that explain the aches and pains?

Low vitamin d levels can cause bone/ muscle pain

Low Vit D can cause aches and pains

Nanna50 · 26/06/2019 21:32

I think the vit D deficiency could be causing the aches and pains. I’m not a GP but had similar vit D levels my GP immediately gave me a course of very high vit D and then maintenance dose. It took a while to get within range but the aches and pains went along with other symptoms.

Crossed posts, oops

Thank you for your replies.
Honestly, so relieved!

I do hope it's just down to the Vitamin D - the painkillers I'm on are ridiculous and, even though they help, are making me absolutely exhausted! I was hoping it wasn't going to be something chronic.

Vit D deficiency made me so very tired.

I’m not a GP (other HCP) but I would advise you to try to wean off the morphine and codeine. It’s a very easy and slippery slope to dependence. Go to your pharmacy and ask for HuxD3 20000 units, buy a pack of 20 (about £6) and take 3 a week until all gone, that will bring your vit d levels up quickly, then buy the cheapest 400 unit vit d tablet (ask for valupak) and take 1 a day to maintain levels. Buy ferrous fumarate 210mg take 1 three times a day for 3-4 months then stop or step down to 1 a day. Tell your GP you’re doing this at the start of your appointment and you can have more time to talk about managing your symptoms rather than have half your time spent telling you how to take your meds.

You have Vitamin D deficiency. I had almost exactly the same symptoms you describe and felt lik I was dying -- tund out my Vitamin D was 20 nmol/L.

I was prescribed high dose supplements and the symptoms disappeared within a few weeks. I now take 1,000 iu every day as maintenance. Get to the GP
