Do you have a tall DH and two car seats?

What car do you have?!

I didn't think ours was particularly tiny (Hyundai i20) - but after having DD we had to put her car seat on the passenger side of the back seat as tall DH needs driver's seat fully back and car seat wouldn't fit behind it!

DC2 now imminent and it's dawning on me that, short of chucking them in the boot, we'll probably need something larger -

I don't like big cars as a rule, so want something 'small big' but would prefer to keep the DCs rear-facing for as long as poss which I'm assuming means even more space needed?

I know nothing about cars, and tbh the thought of spending hours researching, or even worse visiting showrooms, bores me to tears- so I thought I'd cheat by asking on here!

Do you have something that works brilliantly for you??

I'm short, DH is tall. I've got a Zafira. Comfortable for me to drive, good boot space, plenty of space for the DCs to mutate into giant leggy teenagers. They are still on high back boosters at present.

As a short driver with tiny feet and muscular calvez, I find German cars that have the accelerator pivoted from the ground to be bloody uncomfortable as my leg is jammed into a position where it cramps up after about 30 minutes.

Have a look at a kia carens. It is a 7 seater but doesn't feel big when parking etc and I am used to a focus.

Skoda Kodiaq is great for this (hate estates and like a higher up driving position, so the Superb was out) - we’re 5ft11 and 6ft4 respectively and can fit a cybex sirona and a Axkid Minikid both RF behind us.
