So is it worth doing two days? Or could you get it done in one? Plus are the waiting times for rides really long? Dont mind waiting like half hour but longer than that DD will get bored. Will be going when the Scottish school holidays are on but england will still be in school next year?

And yes to PP suggestion of Chessington as there are the animals too.

We had the Merlin passes for a couple of years so did LEGOLAND a couple of times and thought it was crap to be honest. Much better was Chessington because you've got a really lovely setting and you can go and see the animals without any big queues.

To be honest Alton Towers is also better than LEGOLAND I really wouldn't recommend it at all it's very tired, concrete and huge queues for really crap rides.

Think alton towers is out in front atm. Any place good to stay around that area places like the dreaded butlins 😯 upto an hours drive?

OP depends what accommodation you are looking for. Are you on a budget? Travelodge? Premierinn? I usually put the post code of the attraction into booking.com and see what comes up.

MenstruatorExtraordinaire · 23/06/2019 19:46

The Alton Towers hotel is very good and you get entry into the water park as well and there's loads of entertainment on for the kids in the evening I would definitely recommend

SharesinClarks · 23/06/2019 19:49

Used to live near Alton towers. There's a premier Inn & Travelodge in uttoxeter which is approximately 6 miles away.

Somewhere like butlins or haven 😊 kids love that sort of thing would be staying for about a week

You'd be better off waiting 2-3 years. 2 is too young to enjoy it much and 10 is probably a bit old.
I've been a few times and it was best for 4-7 yr olds.
If you go, take food and drink and cagoules with you.

Yogagirl123 · 23/06/2019 19:54

We really enjoyed Legoland, been a couple of times when our children were younger.

AlbusPercival · 23/06/2019 19:56

My suggestion is stay in Staffordshire.

Have one day at Drayton Manor and one at Alton Towers

I’ve been to both, Legoland and Chessington in the last month with my 2.5 year old and I honestly think it’s your best bet.

I also went to pleasure island in May (theme park addict!)

What rides did she like at Blackpool, and how tall is she?

HereForAdvice2019 · 23/06/2019 19:58

Thorpe Park for thrill seeker depends on her height. Chessington or Alton towers

NotSoThinLizzy · 23/06/2019 20:32

I really like the idea of Alton and drayton thanks 😊

Sorry to jump in on this but can I have thoughts on the price I’ve been given.... we are looking to go to Legoland in Oct. I’ve found a deal for 2 adults and one child for 2 day passes, hotel and breakfast for £170. Is this good/bad/average? It’s for. Sat-Sun. This is without the Qbots though.... thanks!
