Boiler insurance/ yearly check

Hi, I'm trying to find out if I can get my mum a better deal on her boiler and heating maintenance/insurance.

She pays £20/month and that includes a yearly boiler check, covers the plumbing and radiators but doesn't include a call out fee if anything goes wrong. Call out is £50. The boiler is over 10 years old. She's thinking of moving to somewhere with a newer boiler if that makes a difference. She can't afford to replace the boiler. She's in a 2bed small bungalow.

How much do you pay a month and what company are you with and what does it include?

Thanks!

If she put £20 a month into savings, she'd have £240 to hand.
I, personally, wouldn't take out a policy.
In almost 30 years of being a homeowner, I've only once paid out more than that.

Id be wary of changing to be honest. My boiler was coming up for 10 years, had passed its annual service, and I thought I’d look into getting British Gas home care cover. The BG engineer came out, ran and promptly condemned it. Cost me an unexpected £2k to get a new boiler (not through BG, who wanted £3.5k) as no one would repair it after BG had put their notice on it.

HomeServe - £20 for everything you've said no call out charge, recently fixed a problem cost me nothing, have used them for three years, they come out quickly too, they'll probably have some 'new customer' offers online.

Never been charged for call outs. Check the plan she is on.
