It seems I have the foot of an athlete without the body to match...

I have had athletes foot for what seems like forever. I use the powder stuff to treat it and it seems to go then flares up again within a week or 2. Is it usually so stubborn to get rid of!? Coupled with some kind of fungally nail thing thing, my right foot is a delight. It doesn't seem worth going to GP for but is very annoying. Any tips?

I know chat is not necessarily the place to discuss my various fungal infections but health topics mostly get ignored so apologies if this puts you off your breakfast/brunch.

Go to the GP and get terbinafine - I spent years using creams and had treatment from the podiatrist on the nail. Held things at bay but didn't ever clear-up fully. The nail and foosty foot are connected.

Go to your GP - athlete's foot and fungal nail are closely related and it sounds like you need some help in dealing with it.

Ok. I was trying to avoid the GP but I suppose that's what they're there for. Thanks!

My podiatrist swears by vicks vaporub for fungal infections

Daktarin Intensiv contains terbinafine, and is available in some large supermarkets or behind the counter at pharmacies.

And DH found that the only thing that got rid of his fungal nail was oral antifungals on prescription. Those things are stubborn bastards.
