Sunday afternoon there was a power cut for a short while. Not too sure how long it was, and wasn't really bothered by it.
However Monday afternoon at 13.00 it went off again. I reported this to NPG who sent an engineer to check the substation as I wasnt the only person reporting issues.
At 17.00 the power came back on. During the time it was off I had to send a member of staff home (small business with workshop at our home) as there was nothing he could do without power. Also had to eat out as no way to cook for DCs as we have an electric oven.
Still not overly bothered and glad the power went back on, cracked on with our evening as usual.
10.20pm the power went again. Rang NPG who had no other reports so said they would send engineer to my house in the next 3 hours. Went to bed expecting a knock at the door at some point and woke at 1am to a text saying power restored and engineer had replaced a fuse at the substation.
Woke at 3am needing a drink so went downstairs to find no power again. Rang NPG. Same as last time, no other reports will send engineer to me within 3 hours.
4am phone call to say engineer going to substation.
Text at 6am to say power will be off til 14.30.
Return from school run to find power at 09.10.
12.00 and the doorbell/ microwave/ phone all start going bonkers for 20 mins. Call NPG no reports and think it might be issues with my electrics. Power then cuts completely. I get a text to say there's an emergency power cut due to having to dig up the road near the substation and replace an underground cable.
Power finally gets restored at 14.30.
My fridge and freezer have been on and off so much I'm not sure how I feel about eating some of the food.
I work from home and was unable to do anything productive for large amounts of time and had to send someone home as they had nothing to do. Our business land line was out of action which causes a minor inconvenience.
Would you make a claim? I don't know if I'd get anything as the power wasn't off solidly for 12 hours but it was off repeatedly and for long stretches.
