WWYD? Work Meeting

I'm currently off sick with a flare up of a chronic health condition. I had hoped to return to work, but it appears that the flare up of symptoms is a permanent deterioration of my health affecting my mobility and ability to stand.
I got an email inviting me to a meeting at work to discuss how they can help me with my absence.
My current fit note runs out in August, but I can't guarantee that I'll be able to return and the adaptations needed would cause issues for health and safety.
Would I be better to go to the meeting and hand my notice in or wait and see what they say the meeting?

I would go to the meeting and take it from there. Don’t make any hasty decisions.

I wouldn't hand in notice. Do you have a union? If not, call ACAS for advice.

Just go to the meeting Confused

have you seen Occ Health? And if not, why not?

Don't hand your notice in.
How long have you been at the company?
Do you feel you can even go to the meeting?
Ask them for an agenda detailing what will be discussed at the meeting, format etc.

Don’t quit now. I’d try calling the Access to Work advisors to see if they can give you any support. They were brilliant with me. Do you have insurance in case you become too sick to work? If so, you don’t want to quit as that won’t pay out. I’d be thinking if there was a way I could do some of the job remotely if I could afford to drop my hours and getting ready to present that as an idea.

assuming you get sick pay go to the meeting and don't fret too much about return to work adjustments if you're not due back til Aug.

advise you're not sure what you'll need but you'll get in touch with access to work, can you reconvene in July?

I would be going to the meeting either way. The problem is that my health and my job are incompatible. The job requires me to spend all of my shift on my feet and, without my stick (which I have already been informed I can't use due to health and safety) I can't stand for more than a few minutes at a time.
We don't have and occupational health department, so I can't go to see occupational health.
I've been there since March 2018, so well aware that it's easier for them to get rid of me at this point as I haven't been there all that long.
I'm not currently getting sick pay as my average earnings haven't been high enough to qualify for SSP. As I haven't paid NI due to low wages the last 2 years, I'm not entitled to ESA and as a full time student, I'm not entitled to UC. So, handing my resignation in makes no difference regarding what I'm getting currently.
