Pram lining designs are boring for baby?

Hi Mumsnet, I am looking at prams and have noticed the inside linings that the baby looks at are so boring! Plain or dark colours with no pattern, does this make your baby bored? Or does the baby not notice? Thanks!!

Once when one of my kids was about 5 months old I was walking them in the buggy to the shops and I only realised once I got there (15 min walk) that her hood had slipped down over her eyes. She didn't complain. So I'm guessing that no, they don't mind about the linings Grin

@EmeraldIsle81 I got the Cosatto foxtale for exactly this reason. My LO was always looking at it with interest. They are mid range price wise so definitely worth a look! And ignore the rude comments, its not important to anyone but theres no shame in considering it when buying a pram. I'm sure theres some mums that would buy stuff youd consider a waste of time or money! Each to their own

It's years back now, but when mine were small babies lying flat in the pram, I did notice they liked the lining pattern on the inside.

I put dangly toys in my pram to jazz it up. Better than a designed pram lining as you can customise it and change it around for novelty as baby develops.

Prams are expensive enough without shelling out all that money for a "developmental" pattern that may never interest baby and may be of optimimum benefit for a tiny window of time.

Don't sweat the small stuff.

Ds's cosatto pram had a lovely patterned lining which he liked staring at when he was tiny.

Some people get off on being cunts op, don't worry about it.

Ditto to jangly/dangly toys. Smile

If anything when they’re tiny, you need to avoid overstimulating them. They get so overwhelmed with the world at that age. I did far too much with my first. All they really want is cuddles. Read up on the 4th trimester. My babies have both been easy but they both freaked out when overstimulated.

When they’re bigger you can get some lovely buggy toys and baby books to give them when they’re awake.

Anyone who knows anything about child development knows that babies can't see that far, so no, they are not looking out at the world.

While true, they are also very likely to sleep in the pram while still at this stage!

I don't understand some of the sarcastic replies though it was a reasonable question! I just think it's something you can address as and when you get to know your baby.

Oh, be nice.

Cosatto are lovely and will soothe you when you're in the early stages of motherhood. Who knows if the baby likes them, but if not, no harm!

And, you will curse the person who fondly imagines newborns sleep for anything like 20 hours a day, as IME this is utter bullshit.

DS used to get massively excited over trees and leaves. He would kick and screech and flap his arms and legs around in delight whenever we walked under trees. It was hilarious - we filmed him. Unsurprisingly his first word was tree. Grin
