I would say so....

Hermano · 13/06/2019 20:58

No it will poison you.

Post it to me so I can dispose of it safely Wink

JontyDoggle37 · 13/06/2019 21:02

It’s only best before notnuse by. Christmas pudding lasts for ever. You’ll be fine.

ErrolTheDragon · 13/06/2019 21:03

You need to get a fresh one for comparison to see whether it really was past it's best.

Yes I think you’ll be OK. I’m halfway through a tub of peanut butter with a BBE August 2018 and I’m still alive.

Belindabelle · 13/06/2019 21:19

The longer you leave it the better it tastes. I always buy a reduced price Christmas pudding in January to eat at Christmas. The best before date is usually Apr/May so I eat it 7/8 months out of date.

thebabessavedme · 13/06/2019 21:46

ohhh yum! what could be better on a horrid wet june evening than christmas pud with custard and cream? Grin could be 10 years out of date but i'd still give it a go'

tbh, I think rich puddings like these were invented to last a very long time so as to use fruit and spices up before they went off.

Byebyefriend · 13/06/2019 21:49

It's a best before so yep you'll live.

EleanorReally · 13/06/2019 21:55

That's what I think, the date doesn't matter, the longer the better

You’d better douse it in brandy before you eat it, just to kill off any germs... Grin

VictoriaBun · 13/06/2019 22:02

We've eaten one years, not months out of date !

Starlight456 · 13/06/2019 22:04

It’s best before not use by .

You will be fine hope you enjoyed it

AdaColeman · 13/06/2019 22:04

Stab it a few times with a skewer and pour some brandy in to make sure it's safe to eat!

megletthesecond · 13/06/2019 22:11

Of course you'll live Grin. It's packed with sugar and booze.

AbbieLexie · 13/06/2019 22:17

It will be perfect Festive Season 2019 at the earliest. Important you adhere to the special storage instructions - only I'm aware of - so best if I PM you my address so the pudding can be transferred into my care. Wink Grin

I have 2 Christmas puddings and 2 Christmas cakes sat in my office ready for when I visit overseas family later this year.

It's killing me not to be able to eat them and they're probably bb January or something!

Jjacobb · 13/06/2019 22:36

There's a Christmas pudding in my larder with a BB date of January 2016. I keep trying to throw it out but dh insists they get better with age and he will get around to eating it.

LifeIsGoodish · 13/06/2019 23:04

I made a pudding and a cake for Christmas 17. We forgot to eat them so in autumn last year I checked them - still perfect - gave them a feed of rum, and rewrapped to have them at Christmas 18. Guess what? We forgot to eat them! So this year our pudding and cake will be over 2yo. They will be boozy and lushGrin
