Myself and dh live in a housing association maisonette. We share a communal hallway with another tenant. In March the neighbour in question was arrested and subsequently sent to prison. One of his relatives turned up last month to collect some belongings to take to him in prison. I came home from work a few weeks ago to find said belongings (mostly clothes) dumped in the communal hallway. On further investigation it transpired that the relative was unable to take the items to the prison. So rather than putting them back in the flat he left them in the hallway. My main issue is that most of the clothes absolutely stink of cannabis and are unwashed
(gross not envy). I have to walk past them everytime I leave my property and I also believe they are a potential fire hazard. I rang the housing association when they were first abandoned and they said they would send someone out to deal with it. They didn't. I've called back daily since then but they don't answer the phone. I can't contact the relative again (I believe he's not in the UK currently) and I have no contact details for the neighbour in jail. What else can I do? I'm fed up of looking at it
