Pluviophile

Pluviophile - somebody who loves rain.

I’ve often wondered how common this is. When I was a little girl I had pet rabbits. I played with them for hours. When it rained, instead of going indoors I’d play with them in the green house. I feel like this is probably where it stemmed from. I absolutely love the sound of rain on glass.

Unlike most people who complain when it rains all day, I feel energised by it. It makes me so happy. I can (and have) sat and watched/listened to the rain all day long.

It could rain for 30 days straight and you’d hear no complaints from me!

Anybody else!?

I love being cosy in the rain, but don't like how unwaterproof most footwear is, took 36 hours on heated airer to dry out DC's school shoes

That candle sounds amazing.

Love the rain and stormy, windy weather!

You need to do a swap with where I live TheVanguardSix. Weeks of nothing but blue sky for much of the year. I get depressed and sort of on edge if it doesn’t rain for that long.

My house has a metal roof and last night there was a big storm and I went to sleep with the sound of rain on the roof wonderful Smile

I love all of these descriptions! Sainsburys in Bishops Stortford Grin

I adore gardening and I'd love to have a spacious greenhouse I can park myself inside (with a chair and a coffee Wink)

I love the really heavy 'fat' raindrops you get with thunderstorms. Where I am in the SE we haven't really had many thunderstorms over the last few years. I miss them.

I need that candle in my life, amazing!

I’ve tried listening to rain soundtracks before but I find it too artificial sounding.

As a teenager, my bedroom at home was next to the conservatory. If I woke up to rain in the night I’d open my bedroom door so that I could hear it nice and loud whilst all cosy in bed Smile

Yes I love the rain. I love it when I am inside and outside (as long as I can get home and get dry when I feel like it!) I also get second hand cosiness when my babies are snug and warm in their pram under the rain cover and it is pouring down when we are walking. I am a northerner living in the south and it doesn’t rain nearly as much as I am used to so I love it when it rains.

I love the rain too and I actually find too much sunshine depressing. I often wonder if there's a condition that's the opposite of SAD.

I love rain too (just as well, as I live in Wales). Soft fine summer rain, big fat stormy rain - bring it on! I love falling asleep to the sound of it, I love the smell of it (petrichor), I love long wet dog walks when I know I'll barely see a soul and there won't be any fair-weather dog-walkers out!
