Please, please hit me with your best ideas/experiences!

I want to do something that isn't a tombola, book stall or bric a brac, but popular/worthwhile. Feeling totally uninspired Hmm

Also open to hilarious ideas for parent-centric stalls. The more tongue-in-cheek the better Grin

Mermaid braids were a huge success at my last school fete.

Candy floss and popcorn are cheap as chips for ingredients so can potentially make a decent profit on those. At our school fair last year as you went in they persuaded you to buy a canvas shopper wity school logo on it...to put all your wares/tombola wins in. Also good to have a game at the door where as person scrabbles in their purse for the 50p entrance fee they are a captive audience for "guess where the HT is going on holiday" or similar.

A kid’s raffle with a couple of prizes that money can’t buy has worked well at the cost of a book of raffle tickets.
Include things like the chance to be head teacher for the day, a couple of jump to the front of lunch queue passes and whatever would be doable and be popular at your school.

Price it to sell to the kids - 25p a ticket or 5 for a pound for example. Minimal outlay but the kids can get really excited about it!

We do the jar one and also do an own clothes day a couple of weeks ahead of the fete where they have to bring in chocolate to pay for the privilege. This is then used for a chocolate tombola which is hugely popular and costs us nothing apart from raffle tickets.

We also get people to bring in their old teddies and then have an "adopt a bear" for £1 stall. No outlay and very popular.

A bar is a money spinner.
