Help me choose where to holiday in the UK

I’m stuck and bad at making decisions that involve doing anything “different”. The bairns and I, and possibly puppy if we can’t get boarding for him, need to sort out where we can holiday in the UK. Children are 12,11 and 9. We have a tent but are considering other options too. The children like days out- tacky theme parks etc, high ropes courses, but end up enjoying themselves if I drag them somewhere for a walk etc as well, although they protest beforehand. We’ve done Devon a lot, Cornwall, the Gower and Tenby. We live in the Cotswolds so obviously don’t want to go there. Where else can we go? Considering going north...I’m tempted by Blackpool, but not sure whether that is a daft idea!

London??? I live here and I wouldn't come on holiday here, especially in the summer!

CassianAndor. I live in a rural/coastal area which is flooded with holiday makers every summer. Our village increases in population from about 80 people to about 6,000. (plus dogs). We spend as much of the time as we can in London whenever the opportunity presents itself. It's grim if you're on the receiving end.

South Dorset. Think Weymouth, Jurassic coast area, so much to do. Scenery is beautiful

North East coast of Scotland is stunning if you're prepared to travel. Crystal clear water and golden to white sand. We've stayed in Dornoch, Tain, Embo and portmahomack. Honestly the most beautiful place I've ever visited. Definitely worth the travel

If you fancy going north then I’d go for the North Yorkshire coast, around Filey. The beaches are great, Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington are all close together. There’s a Sealife centre at Scarborough, FlamingoLand is a bit inland, Playdale farm park is a good day out but might not hold the attention of your older two (my 7yo loves it), all the usual seaside coast attractions/amusements.
