Do you notice a difference in price shopping at Lidl?

I normally do click & collect at Tesco but our shopping bill is almost £100 a week and that's for 2 adults and nappies for baby, toiletries etc.

I'm going to attempt a weekly shop at Lidl this week in the hope we can save some money.

Has anyone noticed a difference in price from Tesco to Lidl?

Some things have big savings but not everything, I shop monthly at Aldi or Lidl for toiletries, loo rolls, certain canned goods, bulk cheese, pot noodles (teenagers!) then twice a week in Morrison's or Asda. Impulse shopping is a problem though, I can get my bill under £50 a week if I plan but regularly spend £200!

Lidl is brilliant and really helps save money as long as you don't do what I do buy too much 'deluxe' stuff which is the same price as sainsbury's, sometimes more.

We reckon on saving about 30%, and even more if we use DSIL's staff card. Alcohol isn't much cheaper, but it's very much better for the price. Laertes Rey organic Rioja, yum.

I love Lidl. There's a very new one near me, which is lovely, quiet and well stocked. I'd estimate a weekly saving of at least £20 when I shop there, more often than not a Tesco shop would have been around £90 but the last few times I've done a Lidl shop it's been £60-£70.

BUT.. I did my weekly shop at Waitrose and thanks to the vouchers, offers, and promo's it was cheaper than Lidl (£55 quid for a £85 shop!)
