Very long story short, I feel like I've lost my way.

10 years ago I had recently graduated, felt driven and motivated, determined to succeed (whatever that meant). But now I'm just... Blah.

Stayed in my current job for far too long, in a role I never wanted to do long term. My pay is terrible, only one small pay rise in years, and I've just lost all the confidence I ever had.

I'm very lucky to have a supportive DH who agrees with me looking for something else, and says that this is the time I can do anything I want, even if I need to train again. But I don't actually know what I want to do 🤷‍♀️

Think I just need to hear some positive stories of success the give me the kick up the bum I need to dare put myself back out there.

I'm in a similar position, though I'm older. I've been in my current job for 8 years & the ideas of progression I had haven't (& won't) materialise. So I've focused on starting my family & gradually retraining. I'm planning on doing my PGCE in a year or so, so have had to do my Science GCSE & have also done Forest School training.
It's hard to find something you enjoy let alone are passionate about.
Could you ask friends what they think are your strengths & are good at?

Hi @APurpleSquirrel ! I'm sorry that you're feeling the same but it's nice to know I'm not alone Grin

Congratulations on making a change and getting onto the PGCE! I actually applied to do it myself years ago and then changed my mind 🙄 I'm terrible honestly.

I have done that, and had looong conversations with my husband about it. A few people have said they can see me in the police force which is a big shock! And I've occasionally had fleeting thoughts of midwifery, but with a young family it's the shifts that put me off those sorts of roles.

Have you considered speaking with a career coach? I did when I was considering a move from private to public sector with a pay drop (70k to 60k so not a life changing amount) it was very helpful! I think it was £200 for 3 sessions though
