Relax, have some down time... eldest isn’t gcse so not interested in things, youngest is 4 so we sometimes go to the park, the shops. I’m not one for organising jam packed weekends and trips everywhere as I don’t see the point of spending money to spend time together.

CakeNinja · 09/06/2019 13:02

A real variety.
This weekend has been a combination of some of them out at sleepovers, then walks, out for lunch, family round today for food, sometimes shopping, other times daytrips to the beach, picnics, hiring out rowing boats, seeing friends etc.
Yesterday the dds had their boyfriends round and the 5 of them (including ds) built a huge blanket fort which kept them busy for a very long time!! You’re clearly never too old or cool to make dens using really old blankets Grin
Dp usually works Saturdays so I don’t really include him in our plans.

graziemille567 · 09/06/2019 13:20

All sorts - sometimes quiet weekends at home where we watch films, bake, paint, play doh or get the Lego out. Afternoons at friends houses where the kids play and the adults catch up. Cinema. Brunch or dinner out. Camping weekends. Zoo / ice skating / farms / bike rides. Walk to the park.

kaytee87 · 09/06/2019 13:23

DS is almost 3, we do a variety of things;

Soft play, swimming, farm parks, birthday parties, parks, play in garden etc.

Emmabryant123 · 09/06/2019 13:27

3 year old
We visit mil every other Saturday
Then we mostly go to the park and chill at home the other days or we go to the beach when the weather permits

ImNotHappyaboutitPauline · 09/06/2019 13:29

It varies here. Dc are almost 10 and 8. They both do a sport on Saturday mornings and sometimes Sunday too for ds.

We don't do days out as such every weekend as feel we all need a bit of downtime after the busy work/school week so maybe once every 3/4 weeks we'll do something like cinema, mini golf, see a show, a museum or exhibition, the zoo etc.

The rest of the time it's the park, bike rides, swimming, trip to the beach or when the weather is crap maybe shopping and lunch or a movie afternoon on the couch. We might have people over for a casual dinner, sometimes one of their friends or dn has a sleepover, we might go see my dps on a Sunday afternoon or meet them for a pub lunch.

MrsDilligaf · 09/06/2019 13:31

We go to a ballet class on a Saturday and swimming on a Sunday. DD still has a nap for about an hour and a half at 11.00 am so we do things around that. We tend to feed the ducks, go to a play park, soft play etc, but we also involve her in household stuff like gardening and tidying up. She's very happy as long as she gets a blast out in the fresh air.

Seniorschoolmum · 09/06/2019 13:35

Ds aged 10.
Swimming, cycling on the common, climbing the local hills, making a cake, playing chess or monopoly or Cludeo. Martial arts lesson. Book buying.

MadeForThis · 09/06/2019 13:42

Rhyme time at the library, park, walk, ice cream/coffee shop, shopping, football training, drama class, visit family, farm.

Kungfupanda67 · 09/06/2019 13:46

6, 3 and 6 months - this weekend we’ve been to the cinema and bowling, eldest went to a birthday party, hanging around the house today, bit of gardening and housework, we baked cakes this morning, board games etc

Last weekend we stayed in most of the weekend, weekend before we were out most of the weekend, country parks, the zoo, swimming etc

FrenchyQ · 09/06/2019 13:50

Mine are a bit older...DD goes to her boyfriends, so its normally its just me , DH and DS12 at home.

DS is out with his friends a bit now the weather is better.
Sunday morning I take him to do junior parkrun. Then DH takes him to Warhammer club.
We'll sometimes go out for lunch or go to the shooting range too.

soulrunner · 09/06/2019 13:58

2DC (9&7).

Mixture of scheduled stuff (both play hockey Saturday morning and rugby Sunday morning) and ad hoc (parties, playdates, playing out with friends etc). If weather is bad, maybe trampoline park or clipnclimb. If weather good (we're overseas) quite often just hang out at the "club" which has a pool. Occasionally to the beach. DD and I sometimes go for a run/hike.

Mantalini · 09/06/2019 14:08

1 DD6.
We're in London so do things like going to Covent Garden or the Embankment to see the buskers or the Natural History/Science museum if there's a new exhibit. Sometimes go for walks outside of the city but we carshare with a couple of other families so depends on who has the car. We tend to do free or cheap stuff. If the weather's nice then we'll go to Greenwich Park for a picnic. However, a lot of weekends we don't do much as both me and DP are really tired.

Youngandfree · 09/06/2019 14:12

Mine are 3 and 6 so it mostly comprises of parks, walks, beaches (we live near the sea) visits to family and friends etc. and chilling out at home.

Sleepinglemon · 09/06/2019 14:21

We go to stay with my Dad in the countryside about 1 weekend a month. DS has a club on one weekend morning. Sometimes birthday parties or meals with family/friends. Sometimes we all go to the pub for a few hours; we have a chat, DS (4) plays or colours. We often drive to a nearby bigger park/NT (go to the smaller local park in the week). If we're in we craft, do jigsaws, play games, Lego etc... We're not often in for a whole day or we all get cabin fever.

Stravapalava · 09/06/2019 15:14

All kinds of things.

My DC are 4 and 8.

We go outside - garden, on walks, park, local country parks, treasure hunt, on bikes round the village etc.

Swimming, baking, cooking, watching films, soft play, cinema, play card games / board games (Uno is extremely popular at the moment). They still like playing imaginary games by themselves, play with dolls etc.

We visit family, go on days out with or without family, meet up with friends. We are National Trust members too, so we use that. We are fortunate in having some good local free museums where we live as well, so we go there.

yoursworried · 09/06/2019 15:53

Mine are 4 and 6. Yesterday DD has an activity in the morning and the afternoon we went swimming all together.
Today, they were allowed to play games on their kindle fires for a bit, then we went to a park, came home for lunch, then they got Whiney so we went to another park this afternoon. DD is now doing some maths book and DS some colouring before dinner and a bath.
I wish we knew a few more families to hang out with, but we don't so this is what many weekends look like unless we have family visiting or a special event of some sort

BarrenFieldofFucks · 09/06/2019 17:15

Mixture here, kids are 9, 7 and 1.5

Saturday oldest has gym and middle has cricket. Then normally we go to the beach, on the rib, hang out in the garden, see parents and go for a swim, have a BBQ.

In the winter maybe a walk, beach, forest, roast, see friends etc.

Watch films. Pizza on Saturday night.

Lazypuppy · 09/06/2019 17:23

Dd is 18months. We don't normally plan alot, spend quite a lot of time at home so she can play with her toys.

Dog walk and park each day but that may be it. Other days we may be out and about. Yesterday we spent the whole afternoon at a friends bbq, then back home for dd to go to bed

EmrysAtticus · 09/06/2019 17:29

DS is 3. Saturday morning is swimming lesson. Saturday afternoon is sometimes a birthday party, other times we will go to soft play, farm park etc. We have guests on average every other weekend so try to so something interesting with them on a Saturday. Sunday morning is a nice walk somewhere and then Sunday afternoon is lazing around playing and watching TV.

Onlymeyousee · 11/06/2019 16:02

Walks, shops, occasionally cinema, lunch out or hot chocolate and cake in local cafe, sometimes the library, often have friends to play/sleepovers, DVD& popcorn, visit family in next town.
DC 8&9

Onatreebyariver · 11/06/2019 16:16

Ours are 3,5&7 so there is always a birthday party for at least one of them Shock

Then we go swimming, bike ride, Lego etc but mainly they play in the garden in the summer. We have a climbing frame and trampoline and they literally go out there for hours.

Also do their homework - about 20-30 mins per child. Sometimes go to park run with the eldest.

The weekends vanish in the blink of an eye. One thing we don’t do is screen time. Save that for the winter when often the tv will go on on a Sunday if it’s raining. Grin
