Centre parks in the rain!

Going to centre parcs tomorrow for the week and been looking forward to it for ages. First get away with newborn and 2.5 year old. However the weather has forecast heavy rain all week.

Please make me feel better about being stuck in the packed swimming pool all week as there is nothing else to do in the rain! Newborn won’t even be able to go in the water long.

We had planned on some nice walks, lots of playing on the parks and generally exploring nature with the toddler!

Definitely get why you don't want to go off site now! So pleased you've been able to have a nice time despite the weather.

For anyone reading this who does fancy going off site at Sherwood I can highly recommend Ollies fun shack at Ollerton for soft play. It’s not huge but great for under 7’s and is clean, with decent food and proper coffee.

Also if anyone wants a good meal then Forest Lodge at Edwinstowe is brilliant.

PCH, we have stayed in CP 3 times (Sherwood twice and Longleat once) and each time had researched places to go off-site. Each time, we parked the car after unpacking, and only went back to it to repack at the end of the week. It is one of the reasons that we have gone back again - we ALL actually slowed down and relaxed in those precious weeks, and there was enough to entertain DD even in rain and horrible weather twice.

We always found that the pool was very busy in the mornings, but lunchtime tended to see a clear out. And another really great time for a quiet swim is 5-7ish, and also a great time to wear out small people before bed!! Have them fed their meal beforehand, so only need a snack afterwards before bed, and have nice stuff already organized back in the house (i.e. do your shopping earlier in the day, and even put some sauce on the meat or something) to cook an easy adults dinner, with a bottle of wine, and relax!!

We're trying a Dutch version this summer (need to be in the Netherlands for an event and want a chance to relax and have an actual holiday after it!).

Don't be daft you put your welllies on and out you go. Yes you'll need to keep feeding newborn but that's the case whatever the weather. Have a great time, dont catastrophise
