They were little books of black and white photos of babies/children that you sold to raise money for charity. Seems such an odd thing to do now, but they were very cute Smile Smile

I also remember posters for National Children's Homes charity in the late 70s which had photos of young children who had been neglected and/or abused, complete with bruises, scars etc

As a child myself I found the pictures very upsetting

As far as I recall they were real abused children and not actors/models

We were given them to sell by the nuns at my convent school in the 50s.

I can remember sunny smiles comics from the 50's about 1957, I loved them and I'd become engrossed in them, not even hearing when I was spoken to, haha happy days 👀cheers birdsinspring x

We went knocking on doors selling the photos, we were given them at Sunday School in about 1966/67, used to love looking at all the little faces, cant imaging doing it now 😄

This is bringing back memories of selling Sunny Smiles back in the late 60s/early 70s.

I went to sell in one house and the very elderly lady was telling me she could not possibly adopt a child, she is too old! I cannot remember if I could make her understand in the end or not.

When I told my brother, I found out it was his piano teacher's mum! His breakfast always fascinated my brother - coffee, cigarettes and black magic chocolates!

Bloody hated selling stuff through the school.

We had them every year at Sunday School. They were to raise money for The National Children's Home. Thought nothing of it then but now I cringe.

We had them at school. We didn’t sell them to anyone; my mum just gave me the money for the whole booklet. From memory, they were about 50p per booklet. I didn’t like the thought of choosing just one child to support. It made me uncomfortable then, and even more so now.
