Verucca question, possible foot infection? Pic included, don't open while eating breakfast

Hi, my 6 year old has had a large verucca for some time and we have been trying to treat with bazuka. Not sure we're making much progress, just seems to be a big hard lump now. She also has a very small cut/scratch on otherside of foot. Now I think the area between the two is slightly infected, she says it feels extremely itchy and it's slightly red and warmer to touch than surrounding area. What would you guys do?

Ignore and continue to treat verucca

Draw a line around red area and monitor

Find a gp clinic today and get it checked out.

She's well in herself, just want to make sure I'm not missing anything? Any advice gratefully received.

local community hospital has a MIU. I have spoken to them, and they don't have docs but have nurse practitioners who can prescribe/refer so we'll go there. But later on this afternoon as apparently she and my DH are currently having lunch out!

I realise you’re going to hold off on the verucca, but I treated my dc with the extra strong bazooka when they were around the same age.
I found the trick would be to just keep applying it- don’t bother filling it down it just makes it sore. Just have an extra long soak in the bath and within a few days the skin with loosen around it. Keep layering it on and eventually it will all peel away. It’s much better after a bath as the skin will be really soft. Be careful putting bazooka on the fresh skin as it can burn.
Also even if you think it’s all gone keep putting it on in case there’s a bit left behind.

Flucloxacillin prescribed and I have to take her to the GP at some point next week and get a referral to a podiatrist to get verucca removed. They removed some of the top at the hospital but it goes quite deep and the nurse didn't want to risk introducing more infection etc.
My daughter loudly announced that I'd tried putting duct tape on it and the nurse gave me a look as if I was crazy. I tried to explain that wasn't in response to the infection but in the early days of the verucca (when I was following all the advice threads on here!! :) )
Oh well, it has a dressing on now so at least I get out of taking her to her swimming lesson in the morning! Happy days. Thanks again for the advice and input - you were all spot on.
