My DD will be 3 in a couple of months, and I have no clue what to get her (or tell anyone else when they ask). So if your DC has turned 3 in the last year or so, what did you get them that's been a good buy?

She has so much stuff already I can't think of anything other than books!

Something for outdoors if you have room. A little slide or seesaw?

sleepismysuperpower1 · 07/06/2019 18:21

outdoor toys are always good. you could look at a bike? one with stabilizers, so she can learn to peddle etc and then you can take them off x

Playdough and tools
How about a subscription to a toucan box?
Brio/duplo

Sand pit
Paddling pool
Aqualock water play system
Dolls house
Toy farm
Shopping basket, trolley and plastic food
Fancy dress clothes
Pop up play tent

ISeeDeadDandelions · 07/06/2019 19:27

She already has a slide and is more interested in digging soil than playing on it now 🤦🏼‍♀️

I'll look into the toucan box, not heard of that before.

I like the dolls house/farm idea, might go with that, thanks! Not spending a lot as she gets plenty from others and I'm sure I'll be taking her out for the day, just feel I have to get her something too...

Peppa pig kitchen went down a storm, keeps her really entertained.

Barbie motorhome

A membership to a local attraction - we use ours all the time.

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 07/06/2019 19:34

Got DD a scooter. She loves it. She's obsessed with animals so took her to the zoo too.

LemonMousse · 07/06/2019 19:42

If she likes digging soil (a child after my own heart - I was never clean!) there are lots of cute little garden tools around at the moment.

LittleMy77 · 07/06/2019 19:42

Anything house / castle / farm like with people / animals in. Playmobil and duplo have a been huge hit here and continue to be at nearly 4

Outdoor water table has served us well for 2+ years; if she likes digging, how about turning a small patch of garden into a mud kitchen / her own garden and get her something to go in it?

sleepismysuperpower1 · 07/06/2019 19:44

if she likes digging, maybe a little pack of seeds and a small corner of garden?

OhMrTumnus · 07/06/2019 19:45

If she enjoys being outside and digging, how about a mud kitchen for the garden?

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 07/06/2019 20:09

How about a mud kitchen if she likes digging? I wish I had got my girls One when they were younger but we loved in a small flat.

Favourites for my girls was busy books (book with playmat and 12 figures - there's so many different ones!)

happyland, imaginext and playmobil are good too. Mine loved small world play.

Character toys/clothes/bedding - there's always a new favourite. Think it was Disney toy story/lilo and stitch and paw patrol for mine around 3.

Duplo especially a set with a slide part.

Dressing up costumes my daughter around 3 spent most of her time as Anna from frozen or Skye from paw patrol 😂

At that age I started the snow globe tradition too, they get a new one for their shelf each year.

My DD turned 3 last month and we got her a scooter and dolls' house (wooden one reduced from £50 to £40 online in Asda at the moment). PIL got her a combination sand/water table and her baby brother got her some kinetic sand.

Brilliant, thank you all! Some great suggestions, I'll get looking into then today 😁

Both ds and dd loved Happyland. There's 6 years between them and dd inherited a load from ds which has been added to. She's almost 6 now and still plays with it so it was worth the money.

Singlenotsingle · 08/06/2019 08:08

Baby Annabelle, drinks and wees. Costs about £50.

Equimum · 08/06/2019 18:23

DS is just about to turn four, and over the past year, the most used present have been:
Balance bike
Giant slide
Tepee
Paper & crayons

Tavannach · 08/06/2019 18:28

£2 paintbox from Flying Tiger and a ream of A4 copy paper from the post office have been the most popular lately but she also loves her scooter (with flashing lights), Duplo and the sandpit.

DelurkingAJ · 08/06/2019 18:29

Brio or other wooden railway brands? That’s by far our best £/use toy.
