LAMDA verse & prose -any advice?

Hi
Just wondering if anyone can help me? I’m looking to help my dd (9) with her confidence. She currently attends Stagecoach each week. She seems to enjoy it, but will always choose a very small non-speaking part of she can.
She’s frequently thinks people will laugh at her and describes herself as shy. I’d like her to be able to speak out when she needs to, with confidence.
A friend of mine suggested getting a tutor who helps children train for the ‘verse and prose’ exams.
She made it sound great! But I’m finding the LAMDA website difficult to navigate. I certainly can’t find any tutors (from their website) nearer than 45 mins drive away. And no information on an approximate cost, time per week spent with tutor, time spent on any homework elements etc.
Does anyone’s child do this? Do tutors tutor via Skype?
I’d love to get a bit more information about it and whether anyone familiar with LAMDA would recommend it, given my daughter is not a natural public speaker?
(I need to pop out for a couple of hours, but I will be back!)
Thanks

My son did quite a few LAMDA grades and achieved a lot. Now grown up, he is a very confident person and a performer. We had a local tutor (but she moved away a long time ago). I would certainly recommend LAMDA & hope you can find a teacher not too far away.

My ds does Lamda public speaking and it's been fantastic. Our tutor works from home but also does lessons at school (that we pay for). I have no hesitation in recommending this!

Do none of the stagecoach people offer it? Or know anybody that does?

Thanks so much for replying. Do your remember if your children actually wanted to do it? I’ve got a feeling my dd will say she doesn’t want to, she’s too shy etc, but although I usually allow the children to direct their after school activities, I really wonder if this time I need to put my foot down a bit.
I fear that her saying she’s shy is a bit of a cop out for getting involved with things and pushing herself just a little.
Glad it worked out for your children.
Dad is not at a private school and I think that’s where the LAMDA tutors may be hiding!
Good idea to contact stagecoach to see if they offer it too.
Can you give me a rough idea of cost?

My mother forced me to do speech and drama classes, leading to LAMDA exams. I'm glad she did. I'm a painful introvert, but my ability to speak publically has really helped me in life.

Thanks Bezalelle
That echos what my friend told me too.
I contacted Stagecoach and they don’t do it at our venue but they are going to try to put me in touch with someone else.
Still no idea do cost though.
Anyone else got any other thoughts?
