Cafe with indoor play area near Bournemouth

2 year old DD and I are staying in Wimborne for a long weekend.

It is pouring down today and I'm trying to find somewhere for DD to stretch her legs and do some climbing without going to a massive noisy softplay centre.

Where we live there are a few cafes with low-key softplay areas (where you can easily see the whole play area from the entrance to it) and I'm wondering whether anyone can suggest somewhere like that or give ideas of other rainy day things we could do.

So far I've thought of going to the library, so clearly I need help...

In Dorchester there is a cafe called Munchkins Play Cafe, it has plenty of toys and play equipment but without too much of the hideous-ness of big soft play! Parking very close by too. Would definitely recommend x

Or for closer to Wimborne, Blandford have a soft play (Crazy Monsters) but it is just like a standard soft play centre.

Or (last one!) there's a garden centre in Ferndown (the name escapes me) which has a small play area in the cafe which you can see from the tables easily.

Broadstone, the Junction has a soft play upstairs, not sure on opening hours. That’s prob about 15/20 mins from Wimborne

Wyevale Garden Centre, Wimborne Road West is the one Martin is thinking of. It’s not very big and pretty low key.

Mine liked Far,Er Palmers atbthat age and I think there is indoor stuff there.

Thank you for all of these suggestions.

I'm leaning towards the garden centre. We have DD's grandparents in toe so I think this might be the most suitable option for today.

DD and I are in this area quite a lot on our own (usually staying in Bournemouth) so I'll keep the list and explore the other places in future. Though I have to say I think this is the first time in many visits that it has properly rained!

Next time you are in Bournemouth, you could try the Aquarium if you haven’t already. If you get your hand stamped you can re-enter the same day multiple times.

I used to take my DD in the morning, she would run though at a rate of knots because she was quite excited, have 20 mins on the indoor playframe (tiny).

Then we’d go out to the beach or for some lunch and go back in again in the afternoon and on the second run through she’d actually stop and look at everything properly!
