Are there still any disability benefits when working?

It's a long time since I needed to know this stuff personally, but now I need to gather info to help someone else. If someone has a diagnosed long-term health condition (covered by Equalities Act) is there any financial support to help them with a phased return to work? They have a supportive employer who has given as much occupational sick pay as possible and then statutory, but it's a small company so would only be able to pay the person for the hours actually worked when building back up to returning full-time, if you see what I mean?

So, I was wondering if things like disability working allowance or similar still exist, or what are the best things to explore either for the individual or the company? Any advice for things to look into would be amazing, thank you.

PIP is the first thing that comes to mind. Access to Work fund support/equipment for disabled people in work but I hear it’s harder to get now (no experience). Maybe Universal Credit? I’m basing that on rules for WTC being relaxed for disabled people and that now being part of UC but I don’t know the rules.

Certainly pip if they qualify otherwise it's tax credits or uc though I suspect even a half time job would put you over the earnings threshold

PIP. Possibly a working group of ESA. There's at least two groups of ESA - support group who can't work then the might be able to work group.

Sorry cant be of more help but DP is in support group. There's also two types of ESA income related and non income related based off NI contributions.

The benefits system isnt confusing or anything HmmGrin
