So if we're all going to be almost brown bread by 2050 where is the safest place to live?

According to today's terrifying article it's going to be catastrophic after 2050 - possible war, possible nuclear war, environmental disasters, one third of the world will have temperatures that cause death 100 days a year - causing millions of people to move countries and continents.

Article here in case anyone hasn't read it

So if major cities like London where I live are a big no no - where is a big yes?

I'm no expert on environmental damage as I initially thought rural Scotland would be ok - but then I wondered about the mini ice age stuff and crops ? Confused

So if we're all going to be almost brown bread by 2050 where is the safest place to live?

Slightly off-topic correction:

It isn't individual ordinary people being selfish that is the main problem with tackling climate change.

www.theguardian.com/environment/2013/nov/20/90-companies-man-made-global-warming-emissions-climate-change

The best thing all of us can do from a prevention point of view is vote/campaign for candidates who'll stand up to the fossil fuel lobby, who will properly support renewables, and who will prioritise the avoidance of war when not absolutely necessary over the profits that can be made from conflict. Or vote against the worst ones. And lobby both people who are already elected, and private companies who could be conducting themselves better.

Those kinds of changes make more difference than how often the vast majority of people - even in wealthier countries - fly (and I say that as someone who hasn't set foot on a plane in over a decade). Though individual actions can help you feel less powerless, and decrease the profits of less ethical companies a little, which is no bad thing.

Back to the OP: I wish I knew! I think it'll be power/money, far more than location, that'll decide most people's fate, sadly.

@feesh this is a link to the Birmingham Mail article. There are also tunnels around the town hall that were used for underground transport of mail & such like. www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/local-news/birminghams-secret-nuclear-bunker-6463021
