Blender, food processor or other....

I want something that can mix together ingredients for me. So I can chuck say chickpeas, spices etc into something, whizz it up then shape into falafel.

A colleague confused me by saying it's not a blender I want. That that is for liquids/smoothies. Nor a mixer as thats for dried stuffs.

Is it a food processor? I won't be doing it en masse so i don't suppose it needs to be definitely one machine?

Food processing. Many come with a separate blender attachment. I got a cheapish Kenwood one and it's very good for making thinks like bean burgers, falafels, salsa and grating veg for coleslaw or lakes.

I'd get a food processor, that has a blender attachment (and whilst I agree that blenders are usually liquid related, I also make breadcrumbs and a salsa verde in mine)

Can I get something like this ?

I’ve got something similar to that OP but it really only takes a small amount - I doubt it would take a ton of chickpeas.

I agree that it’s not a stick blender you’re after but a small god processor.

God? That really would be something! Food...

Following as I'm looking for a cheapish food processor.

I've got a Kenwood food processor for making falafel, hummus etc
It's great. Also makes cheat ice cream 😋

Any recommendations for a decent wattage, moderately priced food processor that does everything already mentioned AND makes nut butter? I can't justify the cost of the most expensive processors right now.

IHeartKingThistle · 06/06/2019 18:58

I'd use my Ninja for that. My food processor rarely comes out because if I'm doing a small amount it all just flies to the sides and sticks there!

I got the Ninja Complete Food Processor a few months ago. It's great I do smoothies, soups, hummus, slice and shred veggies, pizza dough, frozen cocktails, loads of stuff.

Blender, food processor or other....

It's very neat too. The main body and Ninja cup sits on my worktop and everything else in cupboard underneath.

Thank you @3catsandcounting, I'll have a look at this

I have this one and it seems quite good for occasional blending and grating use:-
