If anyone has these and finds them really useful, could you recommend some please? I want to make sure they are worthwhile.
Thanks Grin

I have the muji ones. Tops and bottoms fit nicely into the M size, knickers and socks in S and I have an L one for dirty laundry.

Thank you! Will check them out. Planning my packing and looking forward to a holiday is keeping me sane at the moment

I bought some from Amazon, a set of assorted sizes - they weren't expensive but I checked plenty of reviews first. The largest is great for DP's stuff and the next size down for mine. They make packing really easy.

I got some off Amazon. I’m not great at packing (although I’m working on a capsule wardrobe!) and they are definitely helpful for making stuff more compact and better organised.

I really do think they are worthwhile. When we're not on holiday I store out of season clothes in them.

I think any set you like the look of and are not too cheap and not too expensive will fit the bill. Probably not a purchase to lose a lot of sleep over.

I purchased some new pillows for us all and they came in zip up bags which I'm now reusing as packing cubes. So did so the pillow and mattress protectors.

Then, I also got some new bedding and that came in little drawstring bags. They are great as well.

I just used brown parcel labels on them x looks fab x

How do they make packing easier?

Good idea @donutrehomer, thanks

We have these medium sized ones from ebags www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0092XBKRI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?psc=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&ie=UTF8

We have a colour each (4 of us) and in one I can pack 2 pairs of cargo shorts, 3 t shirts, 3 pairs of boxers and 3 pairs trainer socks for then 15 year old Ds1 who is in Next medium clothing.

We found them very useful for Florida as we moved round 3 hotels. So I knew that each bag contained 3 days worth of clothing, in another medium bag there were pyjamas etc.

They organise you so you don't have to root around for items, it is easy to just remove a cube and transfer the cube to the drawers in the hotel room, take out what you need.

I did a lot of research and originally bought a pack with one small, one medium and one large and worked our clothing needs out then ordered mediums in 4 different colours.

There are lots of videos on YouTube showing people packing them/reviewing them. I love them and wouldn't be without them now.

I can't see how they make packing easier.

I got a cheap set on amazon and then found another set in a charity shop. I love them.
I can lift out each cube with underwear ,folded tops etc in and just plonk in a drawer . What isnt taken out of the cube is obviously still clean and since they havent been shifted around are still in good shape . The set from the charity shop has drawstring bags for sandals and a hanging bag for toiletries .All in a nice colour. Just so satisfying to look at once packed in a case.
Plus when I was stopped at the Flybe gate for bag checking and the case was found to be too big it was a matter of seconds to lift out a cube ,retry the case in the measurer and then repack the case once it had passed muster.

I know , total waste of time but it seemed to keep the staff happy.

wowfudge · 03/06/2019 21:57

Clothes get creased when then rub together and move around in your case or bag. If you roll everything up and pack it into packing cubes that doesn't happen. Packing cubes also compact things and make it easier to get more in. Most cases are square and packing cubes turn your clothes into cubes.

Reluctantbettlynch · 03/06/2019 21:57

I was hoping they could be useful in wardrobes etc between uses. Thanks for the advice Smile

Yes they’re great. Underwear in one, socks, tights, nightie etc in another, all the loose stuff like chargers, adapters, earphones, shoe shine etc in the third. Travel medicines in a little extra pouch. No more searching

highlandcoo · 03/06/2019 22:32

I have Gonex packing cubes and they are absolutely brilliant. Most useful for a multi-centre holiday; I travelled around India for three weeks and stayed in 9 different places. Could just lift out each cube and place in a drawer. One for underwear, one for t-shirts, one for trousers, one for all medicines, sun cream etc.One for dirty washing.
Really recommend as worth the money!
