DS has had warts for the last few years that we’ve successfully treated with Bazuka. He now has verrucas that won’t shift with Bazuka. He had a podiatrist appointment about 10 days ago where they removed the dead skin but wouldn’t put anything stronger on it due to his age. What else can we try as the one on the ball of his foot is very painful and he is struggling to walk. Is it worth going to the GP or is there nothing they can do?

My method is soak the foot until its all pruney. Dig about a bit with tweezers as much as you can without causing huge amounts of pain. Paint on nail varnish any colour. Top up the nail varnish daily
At the end of the week peel off the nail varnish, it should bring some of the verruca innards with it. Repeat.

We had some amazing aerosol stuff that froze it then it fell off in 2 days. I have a feeling it said from age 10 and dd was 6 but we were desperate and used it. It hurts so one needs to cuddle but after a few seconds it's over.

DS is 12 (but does have sensory processing disorder) so a spray like that could work. I haven’t tried nail varnish but the Bazuka works like that - pulls a layer off when you peel it.

I used apple cider vinegar on mine. Trimmed them down after soaking in water and then every night I soaked cotton wool with apple cider vinegar and taped in place with something to keep it from drying out. Took about 2-3 weeks. Got a bit uncomfortable towards the end.

Hardcore here! My son has one and hated it so I removed it by sliding a threaded fine needle from side to side under it and then from top to bottom and then yanked the thread so that it split the verucca into raised quarters and then I snapped off each quarter.

There was some blood but only a little and I put a plaster on it overnight and then a new one the next day and that was it,the small wound healed over.

I did it after he had a bath so that the skin around the verucca was as soft as possible.

I had one when I was ten and picked at mine with a needle and got rid of mine and that’s what gave me the idea.

Not the best thing to do I know.

Apple cider vinegar and duct tape.

I'll try apple cider vinegar tomorrow and then order some freezing spray as back up if that doesn't work.

I had one just like that on the ball of my foot for years! Tried everything! Eventually I dug it out with a scalpel, it left a big crater but it disappeared and it healed lovely. Not sure how realistic that is for a 12 year old though sorry.

Obviously you want to find a solution ASAP, but, is he going to be eligible for the HPV vaccine? Sorry, not sure if/when boys are going to get it. My DDs had many, many verrucas, for years (six or more) and they cleared up after they had the HPV jabs. Anecdotal, of course, but they’re caused by the HPV virus so, after years of trying all kinds of remedies, I was relieved when they seemed to clear up rapidly after the jabs. Just a thought......
