Someone's just whispered my name and I'm home alone!

I'm shaking.

Was in the kitchen and clear as day someone just whispered my name.

I don't want to tell anyone in real life as they won't believe me.

Doubt anyone on here will believe me either to be fair.

Just wanted to tell someone as it's scared me.

I heard my daughter shout “dad!” clear as day, except she was out with friends at the time! DH didn’t hear anything! Freaked me out!

This happened to me years ago .......I'd have put it down to auditory hallucinations too. If it wasn't for the fact that the 2 people with me heard it too. We were the only people in the room and we all shot up at the same time.

I'm not 'woo' at all. And I really don't want to believe that my dead mum called my name when I spilt a drink. But we all heard what we heard that night. 💁

I used to hear my baby crying every time I turned on the vacuum, even when they weren't in the house!

I also once got up in the night to get a drink, stood in the kitchen and turned on the light, and clear as day heard "Go back to bed" right in my ear. I actually thought it was a burglar and was so scared I just turned around and did what I was told. Then fell asleep wondering if that had really just happened!

My alarm didn't ring and I heard the word go or get up. I heard...Ready, Set, RING. So I heard the words before the noise. And I was definitely awake

Still not unusual.
If you were in bed, then likely you’d only just awoken and were still in the right zone for a hypnopompic hallucination which are often auditory. Also, we often think we’re lying awake when really we keep dozing off momentarily.
Anticipating your alarm is not so unusual: I wake up 5 minutes before mine every day, regardless of when I go to bed. You’re just doing the same and your brain is providing the voice.

A friend of a friend once farted and several people swore they heard his bum say 'Czechoslovakia'

😂🤣

I love playing “I’m not at all woo, but...” bingo on these threads; there are always a few! Grin

I get it when awake and falling to sleep, used to have weird dreams that would then come true as did my nana

Did says she sees spirits as does her dad and dsgs, I’m not convinced but she does come out with some stuff she really shouldn’t know

Dsgs stayed a few weeks ago and said to me, there’s a ghost behind you. While staring at nothing. It did freak me out a bit

My grandfather had a burst ulcer whilst in the Second World War. My gm says she heard him screaming her name at the exact time it happened. He was actually screaming her name she found out later.
