Center Parcs tips

There was a great thread recently with loads of tips about what to take to Center Parcs. I bookmarked it, and have just gone back to it now only to find that it was in 90 days only and it’s disappeared. So I’m starting a new one Grin

My current burning question is: is a teapot and a cafetiere provided?

I already know about the lube Wink

Standard advice for self catering. Don’t plan elaborate meals. The cooking facilities just weren’t up to it (Elvedon).

Don’t use the parc market. So expensive. We booked a Tesco click and collect.

Take your own swimming towels. Take more than one set of all swimming stuff if you can.

Avoid Hucks, well avoid the burgers. Cheap and nasty, but not cheap!

Thanks all for your advice!

Someone said you need to take bedguards but when our kids were small, housekeeping would deliver them if you rang and asked for them on arrival.

Just got back from CP and there was a clothes airer provided. But we just dried all our swimwear and towels on the enormous heated towel rails in the bathrooms. They were dry in a couple of hours.

And there was a cafetière.

Book activities for the checkoutday rather than swimming if you want to make the most of time there. It is just always stressful swimming and having no lodge to go back to. There are less activities available as think it doesn’t occur to people to do that so less demand but always a few and the more people will do it the more will be available.

If you can afford a cabana then get one for at least one or two sessions. We stayed way longer at the pool than we usually do because we had a base to retreat to for me to read my book and you get drinks and towels etc. Made it so much better for us as a family.

We recently came back from Longleat and disagree with the posters that the restaurants are rubbish. Throughout our time there I think we ate in all of them and all were very good! We were a party of 14!

The Indian in particular at Longleat is excellent
