So out of curiosity - work, children, 'me' time, help... I wonder if there is an average?

I'm just nosy whether there's an average on MN or how wildly different it all is.

I have DC age 7 and 2. I work 4 days a week with long commute 3 of those days. DH works f/t on shifts. No family on the doorstep, no cleaner - amazing childminders though and lots of friendly school mums nearby. Most weekends I'm solo parenting as DH is at work. DC are good sleepers at least so get good evenings every day, but little opportunity to go out.

Anyone else care to share?

Have DS (just turned 3) and currently pregnant with DC2. Both DH and I work full time. All three of us get up around 6am, then DH leaves for work at 7am. I do the nursery run and get to work just before 9am. DH leaves work just before 5pm to do nursery pick-up, and I leave work at 5.30pm, getting home around 6.15-ish. We do dinner and bath for DS together, then we alternate doing his bedtime (he is not great at getting to sleep, so this usually only finishes at about 8.30pm). Whoever is not on bed time does housework (laundry, dishes etc) and has a little "me" time. Then I make dinner, DH and I watch an hour or so of TV, then off to bed!

On weekends we tend to do things together as a family - also often see local friends with young kids or family. Evenings are the same routine as on weekdays.

We do get some alone time and some time together as a couple, but it is in the evenings at home rather than going out somewhere.

We have a cleaner who comes once a week for 3 hours to do the big jobs (bathrooms, mopping etc) and have a pretty strict division of labour for other household tasks (laundry, dishes, vacuuming, gardening). All life admin is done at work during lunch.
