Black mould help!

We have a small laundry bin in our utility room that we keep all kitchen related washing- it all gets put on a 60 degree wash with Napisan every few days.
I've just hung one out and noticed this on my son's bib. It's on 2 of them. I feel really grim. Is there anyway if getting rid of it?

Bumping for you ❤️

Thanks! I feel so scuzzy (DH said my genius kitchen laundry bin was a bad idea. Dammit)

If you leave dirty, damp fabric in a warm spot (not even that warm tbh) it will grow mould and bacteria. Either use a nappy bucket with a Napisan solution or wash more often, I often put stuff like that straight in the washing machine to get washed in the next wash.

Banana can leave marks that look like mould if it's left to stain. However, it's probably best to just bin it.

Mississippilessly · 01/06/2019 21:31

I dont think its banana.

So annoyed with myself. It was expensive for a bib - I cant just bin it. Sad

Don't bin it, as long as it's clean the stains don't matter.

HardAsSnails · 01/06/2019 21:40

Hanging it outside on a bright sunny day might help.

AudTheDeepMinded · 01/06/2019 21:45

Don't know if it will help or ruin it (spot test first) black cillit bang is the only stuff that's got rid of mould on our grouting (I left for much longer than the recommended time as that was useless!). I'd be tempted to have a go with that, but I'm a renegade me!

I actually emailed Bibadoo about this Blush

They told me to soak it in a bleach solution, wash it on 60 with stain remover, then line dry it. It worked for me.

Mississippilessly · 01/06/2019 21:54

Brilliant thanks everyone! Looks like there is hope.

And I'm glad I'm not the only person who a) spent 15 fucking quid on a bib and b) got the damn thing mouldy!

Before i get the shocked faces - I swear it's worth worth money. I no longer have to do full outfit changes after every bloody meal!

Soak it in borax powder. You can buy if off Amazon for nothing.

PatricksRum · 02/06/2019 02:02

Yeah my bibadoo did this too!!

Mississippilessly · 04/06/2019 14:16

Tried bleach and white vinegar, no joy.

Amazon no longer sell borax vit I got borax substitute. Wi try that next!

I have found the Astonish bar soap to be fab on stains. Well worth a try, not expensive and even if it doesn’t work on this stain it will come in handy for plenty of other stains. I would wet the stain well with cold water, rub in the soap and maybe scrub with a nail brush. Let it sit for a while then wash.
