Jumperoo bouncer recommendations please

Ds is nearly 5 months and quickly getting fed up of his playmat. I'd like to get a jumperoo type plaything for him but he needs to be properly supported, he can't sit up unaided yet and he's not one of those babies that has really strong legs. He's also bloody massive so it needs to take a lot of weight if we're to get more than 5 minutes use out of it.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated Smile

I've had a fisher price jumperoo for all 3 of my children and they were great.

Yes, Fisher price. Brilliant things

Thank you Smile They say from 6 months, are they ok a bit early?

Another vote for the fisher price one! And from 5 months was fine for us. We actually picked up a second hand one from fb marketplace and it was in excellent conditional and a quarter of the price they are new

TooMinty · 31/05/2019 21:39

Jumperoo but don't buy a new one, you can pick up a good quality one on Gumtree and then sell it on again when you're finished with it.

They are bloody noisy and annoying, they also put your baby in an upright position before their spine is ready for it, stress the joints and encourage toe pointing. I wouldn’t get one. The HV advised me it could delay development and the best thing was just to offer more tummy time.

HairyToity · 31/05/2019 22:09

Mine never had them. Didn't have the space, and I'd heard a physio disprove of them. They managed okay without them.

bitchfromhell · 31/05/2019 22:14

For those that don't like them is there an alternative then for getting jobs done and keeping baby occupied? He wouldn't be left alone but I'd be able to do the dishwasher etc whilst watching him.
I've read about activity stations but not really sure what the difference is, use they would be?

Just seen the fisher price is only suitable up to 25lbs and he's nearly 22lbs already (I said he was bloody massive) so that's a non starter. Thank you for the input though.

I just got everything done when baby slept, and sang/ chatted to baby when in bouncer with a few toys. Can't remember how we managed without one, but the human race has survived for thousands of years without them! Both of mine were early crawlers and found ways to occupy themselves.

Our jumparoo box says up to 30lbs. The seat is quite big even on my baby chunkster.
Don’t buy new, Facebook selling has them very cheap, we got ours from friends, it’s 3rd Hand, needed a good scrub, as had been in a shed but now looks immaculate! There’s not much to them!
