How long, toddler recovery after d&v?

Hello, dd had a bug from nursery, started being sick last Friday, stopped by Sunday.
She is still like an absolute wet rag though, poor food and fluid intake, lethargic, just wants to flop about and watch TV. Is this normal? Thanks in advance

Just bumping this thread for you, @Babysharkdododont

Your poor DD - hope she's feeling better soon. Would she eat an ice lolly? That used to help with mine when they were ill - anything to keep the fluids up.

Brew for you.

Poor little thing. Sounds a nasty bug. Definitely agree with trying ice lollies, jellies, drinks with straws and ice cubes etc to try get more fluids down. I wouldn’t worry about food as she will probably start eating lots for a while once she gets her appetite back.

What’s her temperature doing? Will she play and/or take an interest in what she’s watching on tv? Can you make her smile/laugh? It can take a while to get over a nasty virus but once she starts to pick up hopefully she will return to her usual self pretty quickly. Get her seen though if you are uneasy about her rate of recovery. Hope she’s soon lots better.

Thank you both so much. She's sporadically taking fluids (mostly via jelly / lollies etc) and no temp thankfully.
I'm just concerned as every time she's been poorly before she's bounced back much more quickly, maybe it's just a particularly nasty bug.
Plus I have a DP who is a flapper and keeps saying we need to go to A and E Hmm

Is she lethargic as in just wanting to be quiet and watch tv or quiet as in a bit ‘out of it’? It’s good that her temp is normal and you are getting fluids down her. If she seems very lethargic, sleepy or a bit floppy or you just don’t feel ok about her then def get her seen straight away.

I know what you mean about them usually picking up really quickly after a bug but depending on the type of bug and how badly she had it, I guess it’s normal she’s been a bit knocked for six by it. Go with your instinct though. And fingers Xd she is lots better in the morning.

She's just happy to lay on the sofa watching films, rather than tearing about the place and wanting to be in the garden.
I think tomorrow will be my cut off for seeking some medical advice of she doesn't perk up much.
Tha ks for your kindness Free, these kids are an ongoing worry aren't they!?

I agree that if she’s no perkier tomorrow I’d get her checked over. They are indeed a worry. Mine’s 34 and I’m still worried plus also worry about my DGC 😱.
