Ftw and dc activities

I'm hoping to be informed, not debating what people think is better etc.

If you work full time as a single person or both in a couple (for arguments sake let's say standard 9 til 5 Mon to Fri) with school aged dc, do they do any clubs like swimming gymnastics martial arts.. Anything really. Is it hard or easy to fit in?

I work full time, have 2 dc. Each dc does at least one activity a night with the exception of Sunday. It started with one activity a week and built up from there. I'm lucky that I drive and that some activities involve both of them but I make sure they both get to do what they like. So for example they both swim for a team and play water polo, so sometimes we do have competitions on Sunday.
It's the cost that mounts up and I'm know as they get older there interests change do my ds dropped football as he picked up more swim training.
They won't be small forever and it gives them the opportunity to meet other people who they wouldn't meet at school and have their own interests. Cubs/scouts is usually a cheap option to start with.

One primary age child - she does three activities during the week. One is at the school, the other two are outside school. Our after school babysitter takes her. Even the school one relies on childcare as it finishes at 4.30.
We wouldn't be able to do it otherwise as we get back from work 6pm earliest due to commute.

Weekends dd does a Sunday sport but it's seasonal so only Sept to April.

We might switch to a local, new after school club that has a different activity each day (mix of sports and drama) on site and collects from the school and provides dinner. Set up by mums who were sick of inadequate wraparound care and kids of WOHPs missing out on activities after school 😀

DH and I both work full time but I am the only one who drives. Between two kids they are at at least one activity every day, sometimes 3 between them. We have lift shares for a lot of them, others my mum takes them, or they don't start until after I get home from work.

It’ll purely depend on the area you live in - what clubs etc are available and what age your child is.

I’m finding that now my kids are getting older, the more activities there are after 5. Especially for 10+

Some clubs are on a Saturday, but not many.
