Hello,

Just wondering if this is anything to worry about on DS.
The spots on his hands and feet are just red not like the ones on his lips.

He was up crying last night holding his mouth so thinks he's teething not sure if it was just having loads of saliva there

He's perfectly happy in the day

Looks like hand, foot and mouth. It's really common in young children. He's probably got some inside his mouth so it's sore to eat.

It's a viral thing and passes in a few days ime.

Hand foot and mouth for sure

It's not like chicken pox, you don't need to wait for hf&m blisters to crust over or disappear but your dc might be feeling too poorly with it for nursery to be an option. I caught it whilst working in a nursery and was told I could carry on working but I woke up with the sorest throat I've ever had and loads of blisters on roof of mouth. A sip of hot tea burst them all. I was very woe-is-me.

The nhs advice is that they can attend nursery or school of they feel well enough. The toddler I look after had this last year and she was quite unwell for 2-3 days, high temperature, clingy, very tired and not wanting to eat or drink anything as her mouth was so sore. She had a lot of skin peeling off her fingers and toes too.

Another vote for hand, foot and mouth.

Depends on your nursery - ours take them once a doctor has confirmed it's not CP. DD was perfectly well with it, so she went back once it was confirmed with no issues. A friend's (in Ireland so maybe the rules are different) won't take them with it.

Hfm I think.

Thanks everyone, I'll see how he feels in the morning and contact the nursery. He hasn't got a fever and has been running around like a loon all afternoon so don't think he'll be to poorly x
