Small & friendly coastal static caravan parks in the North anyone?

I’ve never stayed in a caravan but really fancy it and the prices look great compared to other options in the school holidays. Can anyone recommend a lovely static caravan park on the coast - North Yorkshire, Northumberland or Scotland? I realise we’re probably leaving it too late for this summer...

Must haves:
Rural area
Family friendly
Small playground would be great, not bothered about any other facilities
Short walk to a nice sandy beach
Small and fairly quiet

Not essential but would be nice:
Small cafe/pub/chip van on site, or a short walk away
No evening entertainment

Please share your idyllic little caravan sites with me Smile

Yes! Cresswell Towers at Cresswell on the Northumbrian Coast.
It's a small site with a little ruined tower in the grounds, (where red squirrels play). A few minutes walk from a gorgeous sandy beach which runs for miles, a lovely ice cream shop , also a rocky beach with great rock pools. There's a play park, shop, swimming pool, bar. A few minutes stroll inland is a lake with a bird hide if you like that sort of thing.

Bus stops outside if you need public transport. There's another stati c site nearby - can't remember the name - I think that also has similar facilities.
Cresswell Towers is very clean and quiet and small. I've stayed there a few times and love it.

Haggerston Castle in Northumberland is great for kids but maybe too big for your wants.

Sandy Bay is not too far from Creswell Towers and may be the one Pp was thinking of.

Thanks for the suggestions! Please keep them coming. From what friends have told me about Haggerston I don’t think we’d like it.

Brighouse bay, kirkcudbright, on the west coast of Scotland. Gillespie leisure also have 3 other sites that are all beautiful and quieter than typical haven type sites.

Waren near Bamburgh might fit the bill www.meadowhead.co.uk/parks/waren/

Sandy Bay in Northumberland is lovely. My friend has a caravan there

We had a static at a site in North Berwick on the east coast of Scotland. The site also has vans to hire. It is called Tantallon Caravan park. We spent many idyllic family holidays there and it is a great area for exploring the countryside.

Sandy Bay has a sister site on the other side of Newbiggin-by-the-Sea called Church Point. No entertainment facilities on site, but you can use those at Sandy Bay if you want. It's right next to the sea and at the end of the main street through the town, there are cafes and takeaways close by.

Also near Sandy Bay is Whitley Bay, it's not super fancy but the caravans are clean and modern. There is evening entertainment but it's small and it's inside a complex at the end of the park, you can't hear it from the caravans and whenever we've been it's been reasonably quiet at night. They have a park, a pool, and activities for kids during the day like crafts and superhero school. It's right on the coast with the beach two minutes walk away and a lighthouse about 10-15 minutes walkaway along the seafront, there are often seals on the rocks. Bus stops outside to take you to various places and Whitley Bay town centre is a walkable distance or can be reached by bus if you don't want to walk.

My sister has a caravan at Haggerston and hates it. Calls it a money grabbing machine. We have one at Seaton Barns near RAF Boulmer right on the coast and love it.

OP - know this was a while ago, but just wondering where you ended up going, and what were your thoughts? I am looking for similar!
