Need to gain weight with intolerances – how?

After months of nausea, low energy and weight loss, I was diagnosed last summer with intolerances to lactose, gluten and fructose, and have been low-FODMAP ever since.

I'm finding the diet easy enough to manage now I've had a while to get used to it, but my weight has got stuck at around 53 kilos (I'm 5'4). I'm naturally quite lean, but I don't like being this thin. I look a bit gaunt and I want my butt and my boobs back!

Trouble is, I'm really struggling to put weight on with such a restrictive diet. Protein shakes and things like Ensure are all full of lactose and gluten, I can't have most fatty treats for the same reason, and I just can't fit in MORE meat or fish and potatoes - it makes up so much of my diet already!

Any clever nutrition-y bods or low-FODMAP people out there with bright ideas?

I have such a hard time putting on weight and use Orgain meal replacement powder to add extra calories. It is labelled as lactose and gluten free, as are quite a few of the vegan protein powders, and is sweetened with stevia. I think that makes it okay with low-FODMAP?

You need to see a dietician.
