The most amazing place you've ever visited

Our holiday destinations have been quite safe and samey up to now usually AI and now DD is a bit older we'd like to branch out a bit.

Have you ever visited anywhere that was amazing and that you tell everyone about? I don't mind whether its little known, off the beaten track, hugely touristy or whatever, but I'm just looking for something with a wow factor.

Masai Mara at dawn. Just so incredible.

The Menin Gate in Ypres, Belgium along with most of the Somme/Flanders. Honfleur in W. France. Snowdonia.

Venice is my ultimate place - it's mysterious and magical and I've been several times but would never go in high season.

Some years ago I was invited to a Buckingham Palace garden party. I took my DM and she died later that year. I have some lovely memories of us wandering around the garden.

Knight inlet, Canada. Go in September when the salmon run, and you can watch grizzlies in the wild
