Support for Mortgage Interest is a separate benefit (actually a loan repayable on sale of the house) you may be able to claim.

Its appalling they won't help anybody with a mortgage - wheres the safety net for everybody!? To afford a mortgage you clearly earnt enough to pay into the system. I dont know first hand about U.C but its sickening
