DS and I will be in Dartmouth for a night and a day this week. We've never been before. What must we see/do please?

Dobby, pleases to report we're as taken with the steps as you are! They're fab. The whole place is fab!

We had a takeaway from Rockfish - excellent. I had crab cakes (yum) and DS had fish and chips. It was heaving but fresh and delicious.

Tomorrow we're walking to the castle, getting boat back and then will get ferry to Kingswear before a mooch around the shops. We arrived after most had shut but have already spied some interesting ones.

Thanks for breakfast tip too. We're staying at the top of the steps behind the pub so will pop down there in the morning.

@Celeriacacaca Oh wow! You have no idea how happy this makes me. Glad you like the steps! We stayed at the top and got pretty fit up and down constantly. DH thinks I’m a nutter for wanting to explore all the steps.

Hope you’ve had a great day. Walking to the castle and getting the boat back is my favourite thing to do. It’s so simple, but it’s so much fun. My family had a house with the best view of the river. We spent every summer on the river. I love it so much, everyone in Dartmouth walks or has teeny cars to fit down the streets.

It’s a fabulous place.
