Is it weird to take the DC to see a teacher getting married?

Very small town, school has a real community feel.

One of the teachers is from the town and is getting married today at 3. The time was posted in the parish bulletin and the children all knew she was getting married- they had a special assembly etc.

Is it strange to go down to the church to see her? DD is desperate. We wouldn't go in or anything!

Yes, go wait outside, I did it as a child and it was very common in rural communities.

So lovely and thoughtful.

We went, there was quite a lot of families there so we all stood on the opposite side of the road and cheered as they came out. It was lovely, the bride was beautiful and looked so happy.

I went to see one of my teachers getting married. She invited the whole class and we all wore our school jumpers.

Aww, I bet she felt really special having children from her class cheering from across the road. 😍

Lovely that you went.

DCs teacher got married and she invited the whole class to sing at her wedding! They all wore their school ties. It was very sweet.

I work in a school and I would be thrilled if one of my children from class came to wave me off! It really would mean a lot to me Smile
