Ordinary places that have creeped you out.....

I love to hear stories of these and need some distraction!

One was a house I used to babysit in as a teen. V "arty" parents, walls painted oxblood or black, real animal skulls on the walls and great vast black French windows with no curtains.

The first English dept I worked in. Dark wood, stained glass, coupled with modern "emergency" lighting at floor level as only source of light..... I was always so relieved to get away on a quiet weekend evening and shut the door on the spookiness behind me.....

Yours?

I visited Ypres in Belgium a few times.

The atmosphere over there is also very creepy, not strange though given what has happened over there. My ex parents in law went there too and stayed at this hotel

I went to this place just have a tea and it felt very odd and creepy. Definetly would not have dared to spend a night there! But also given the history of this place.

Took my daughter to Luss for a Christmas market a couple of years ago. No preconceptions but both of us started to find the prettiness oppressive and left sharpish. Had to go to our usual Loch Lomond place after to normalise.

@Cherrysoup OMG exactly the same, having a sibling we had a 'knock' that meant, for the love of God come with me to the bathroom. (Not inside, just to the door)

I thought that was a special thing for us Grin On a quiet night with family out, you could hold it desperately or dash.

I’m going to add High Wycombe after going there last night!

Bushmills in NI, very creepy. I've traveled a lot and to some very undesirable places but always find something to like. Bushmills freaks me out. Feels sinister.

Marston Moor gives me the creeps although it's far from ordinary. DH and I do enjoy a spooky twilight drive from Long Marston to Tockwith - it's very bleak even on a sunny day.
